Brussels sprouts are incredibly healthy, easy to prepare and have amazing flavor if you know how to prepare them. They go well as side for chicken, beef, pork, lamb and even fish. Follow my recipe and you will love them!
Cuisine: Romanian, Canadian
  • 500 gr Brussels sprouts (or more)
  • 100 gr bacon or smoked pork fat
  • 2 spoons oil for sauteing
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dill (optional)
  • paprika (optional)
  • lemon juice from ½ lemon
  1. Wash the sprouts and cut them in halves. Heat the oil and add the chopped bacon . When golden brown, add the sprouts and saute them on both sides then add ½ cup water and cover the pan with a lid until water is evaporated reducing the heat to minimum so the sprots can cook entirely.When the water evaporated, sprinkle salt and pepper and the juice from half of a lemon. Serve with meat and a rice dish. They are amazingly delicious!
  2. You can prepare them in the oven as well, mix in paprika, salt, pepper and roast them on both sides, then at the end you can add the lemon juice and sprinkle fresh dill on top. No bacon required for these ones!
