Brussels Sprouts with bacon

Varza de Brusseles este o leguma foarte savuroasa daca stim sa o preparam. Multa lume o fierbe pe abur sau o scufunda in apa clocotita. Eu o sotez in tigaie sau o rumenesc la cuptor, dar cea mai buna iese cu afumatura bineinteles.

Pentru reteta de post sau vegetariana, excludeti baconul sau sunca afumata!

Ingrediente:

500 gr varza de Brussels

sunca afumata sau bacon

2 linguri ulei

zeama de la o jumatate de lamaie

sare

piper

Mod de preparare:

Se spala varza si se taie in doua. Se incinge uleiul si se prajeste putin baconul sau sunculita afumata apoi se adauga varza de Brussels si se rumeneste pe ambele parti amestecand usor cu o lingura de lemn in tigaie. Este de preferat sa se foloseasca un wok sau o tigaie de ceramica sau teflonata ca sa nu se lipeasca.

Cand s-au rumenit frumos adaugam o jumatate de cana de apa si le acoperim cu un capac lasandu-le sa se patrunda pana cand se evapora apa din tigaie. La final, stropim varzutele cu sucul de la o jumatate de lamaie si le asezonam cu sare si piper. Se poate adauga marar verde tocat daca va place.

Al doilea mod de preparare (fara bacon):

Se spala varza, se taie in doua. O stropim cu putin ulei, asezonam cu sare, piper si putina boia dulce de ardei si o bagam la cuptor acoperita cu folie de aluminiu sau cu un capac. O lasam sa se patrunda  usor la foc potrivit (375 grade F sau 170 grade C). Cand s-a patruns, descoperim recipientul in care se afla si o lasam sa se rumeneasca. In momentul servirii se stropeste cu zeama de lamaie si se asezoneaza cu marar (daca va place).

Este foarte gustoasa in acest fel, se potriveste cu pui, porc, miel, vita si chiar peste.

Brussels sprouts are incredibly healthy, easy to prepare and have amazing flavor if you know how to prepare them. They go well as side for chicken, beef, pork, lamb and even fish. Follow my recipe and you will love them!

Ingredients
  • 500 gr Brussels sprouts (or more)
  • 100 gr bacon or smoked pork fat
  • 2 spoons oil for sauteing
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dill (optional)
  • paprika (optional)
  • lemon juice from ½ lemon
Instructions
  1. Wash the sprouts and cut them in halves. Heat the oil and add the chopped bacon . When golden brown, add the sprouts and saute them on both sides then add ½ cup water and cover the pan with a lid until water is evaporated reducing the heat to minimum so the sprots can cook entirely.When the water evaporated, sprinkle salt and pepper and the juice from half of a lemon. Serve with meat and a rice dish. They are amazingly delicious!
  2. You can prepare them in the oven as well, mix in paprika, salt, pepper and roast them on both sides, then at the end you can add the lemon juice and sprinkle fresh dill on top. No bacon required for these ones!
  3. Delish!
